Judy is the newest member of the Philipstown Town Council, but she’s already made a significant impact. She has demonstrated true leadership on the Council and continues to work successfully to:
- Preserve Philipstown’s beauty and quality of life
- Create and bolster Climate Smart solutions that work
- Advocate for our youth and families
- Support seniors and veterans
- Enhance community response to substance abuse and addiction treatment and prevention
Prior to coming on the council, Judy had won praise for working and volunteering diligently on behalf of our community. During her 16 years in Philipstown, Judy has been very active at Haldane, where her daughter attends school. She has served on the PTA and founded a committee to help get out the vote on annual school budgets.
She has supported community organizations like: the Cold Spring Animal Hospital, the Butterfield and Desmond Fish libraries, the Cold Spring Fire Department, the Philipstown Pantry, the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, the Girl Scouts, the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce, Our Lady of Loretto Church and St. Mary in the Highlands, the Haldane Arts Alliance, the Haldane School Foundation, the Philipstown Parks and Recreation Department, the Depot Theatre and many more.
Judy is a hard-working, honest, sensible and approachable member of our Town Council. She is part of a great team of good neighbors running Philipstown. “I am proud of how well the current Philipstown government works together, particularly in our efforts to be a Climate Smart Community,” she says.
