Before you can vote, you need to be  registered. Check your registration on the New York State Voter Lookup. You may also contact the Putnam County Board of Elections.

Early Voting For 9 Days Starting October 24th!

We strongly encourage all registered voters to cast a ballot during Early Voting, which runs Saturday October 24 through November 1, 2020. Early voting takes place at the Board of Elections, 25 Old Route 6 in Carmel NY from 9am-2pm on weekends, 9am-5pm M, W, F and 9am-8pm T, Th. All voters in Putnam are eligible to participate in Early Voting, and no appointment is necessary.

The New York State Board of Elections has created an online absentee ballot application portal.

When your ballot arrives, be sure to complete it and return it as soon as possible! 

Tradition - Vote in person on Election Day

You can always go to your local polling place on Election Day and cast your ballot the old school way.

*On August 20, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law expanded absentee ballot legislation allowing voters to be able to cast an absentee ballot if they wish to avoid going to the polls out of concern for exposure to COVID-19.
